Kawajiri Mitsuru

Naoto, a “corporate slave,” and Ren, a “host,” meet at 5:00 a.m., at a beef bowl restaurant in Shinjuku's Kabuki-Chō. They are complete strangers who just so happen to share breakfast each day side by side, a rather unusual relationship. A corporate slave whose day is about to begin and a host whose day has finally come to an end. This is a morning routine story that depicts the only 15 minutes in which these two people, who live on opposite sides of the clock, intersect!

Dazai Osamu was in despair when “Gyakkou,” his first Akutagawa Award nominee, was not selected. He was picked up by Hiroshi Kikuchi, the president of Bungeishunju, and taken to a share house he had built to support writers. There he meets Saneatsu Mushanokouji, Ango Sakaguchi, and Yasunari Kawabata, who was a critical critic of “Gyakkou”!? This is a comedy about famous writers of modern literature!
