During the ceremony of Genjou Sanzou's enthronement as an officiating monk, the demon Citrus suddenly appears, and through his "One Hundred Sealing Beryls" technique, Sanzou's memory is sealed and he reverts back to the state he was in before his training. In order to regain his lost memories and save the people sealed away by demons, Sanzou and his disciple Wukong set out for the Valley of Monomi in the western region. The demon hunter Kaiou and the dragon join them, and the adventure becomes more and more lively. Meanwhile, Wukong's childhood friend Alfalfa also decides to set off on a journey to save his older sister, who has been turned into an ice statue by a demon.
