The hopes of a comeback are left in Kei's hands, but Motomasa is only getting excited about Makita's fastball. "Whose ball do you usually catch?" Kei realizes something from Hanaruhi's words and challenges Makita head-on.

Kei's commander mode comes to an end; the despondent Kotesashi team allows Hikawa to take the lead; Kei tries to lift the mood of the team, but Chihaya seems to be struggling with a wall he has to overcome.

The return of the Commander allows Yamada and the team to dream big, but first, they need to gauge where they are at, so a practise game with the semifinalists from the spring tournament is arranged.

Out of curiosity, the team attempts different methods to try and get Kei's memory to come back, but not a single one seems to work.

The team works on improving Kei's skills; the overwhelming demands make Kei escape to the rooftop, where he meets Tsuchiya Kazuki, an otaku who likes baseball video games, but hates real-life baseball.

Todo volunteers to step down from shortstop due to his yips; inspired by Kei's words, Todo decides to try practising throwing to first.

Kei decides to set his sights on beating Teitoku in a revenge match after learning more about baseball; Todo is reminded why he quit baseball in the first place.

Declaring that staying where they are won't do them any good, Kokuto asks Kiyomine to consider transferring to Teitoku so that they can go to Koshien together.

Against Teitoku's batters, Haruka pitches an immaculate inning, before Kotesashi's leadoff, Todo, hits a home run on the very first pitch he faces. As everyone holds their breath, the fated showdown between Haruka, Kei, and Kokuto begins.

To get to know one another better, Kei invites Todo and Chihaya to his house. In Kei's room, they find a glove hidden by Haruka. While each of them faces what they can't let go of, the practice game with Teitoku High begins.

Yama and Haruka joined the high school baseball team, but Kei refused to play it. When some mean teammates make fun of the newcomers, Kei makes a decision to follow his new beliefs.
