Build with Comick
Connect your app to a user's manga and anime library with their permission.
The Comick Library API lets your app read followed manga and anime, reading or watching status, and saved progress. A user connects their account on Comick and chooses whether to grant access.
Comick uses OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code with S256 PKCE. Any standards-compatible OAuth client can integrate; you do not need Better Auth in your own application.
Catalog API
Use the Catalog API explorer for manga and anime search, title details, chapters, and reader-image metadata. It includes runnable examples and endpoint-specific limits. Basic catalog requests do not require an account or an OAuth token.
Your first integration
- Register an app using a verified Comick account.
- Choose the backend, browser, or mobile quickstart.
- Authorize with your own account and fetch your library.
- Submit your app for review before inviting other users.
What users can share
| Permission | Access |
|---|---|
library:read | Followed manga/anime, follow status, saved chapter/episode progress, and relevant timestamps. Required. |
offline_access | Refresh tokens for continued synchronization. Optional; users can decline it. |
This API does not expose email, private notes, ratings, custom lists, or write operations. It does not provide sign-in identity, an ID token, or a general catalog/search API.
Choose your client type
| Your application | Client type | Credentials |
|---|---|---|
| Web app with a trusted backend | Confidential | client_id and a server-only client_secret |
| Browser-only app | Public | client_id; no secret |
| Native mobile or desktop app | Public | client_id; no secret |
Both types use PKCE. A client ID identifies your app; it is not an access token. Never ask users for their Comick password or session cookie.

Production library requests use api.comick.dev. The /api2 prefix is only a local development proxy. When working against a local Comick installation, use that installation's website origin plus /api2/integrations/v1 as the resource and add /me/library for library requests. Local and production credentials are separate.
Availability
These guides are public even when integrations are disabled on a deployment. Registration and authorization become available when that deployment enables the API. Contact Comick support if registration is unavailable.
