It’s basically Black Clover if the MC was a quiet, smart Batman-type who just hits things really hard. The plot is generic as hell with a twist of underdog kid, magic school, childhood promise, but the fight scenes are legitimately some of the best-looking panels in modern manga. If you want a deep story, skip it; if you want to see mages get absolutely wrecked in high-def, it's worth a read.

Tbh, I am on the side of the opposition to MC. It is ridiculous that someone who cannot use magic to be accepted in a prestigious magic academy AND aim for the title equivalent to a grand wizard dreamt by many mage aspirants. It is a given that MC will face adverse reaction from peers/seniors. This unreasonableness of the setting is a flimsy contrivance by author to conveniently create many "superior young masters" that disparage MC so readers have targets to hate, or create conflict/adversity for the MC to preva...
