To start, let us tackle its main character, Jiwoo. In fighting stories, you almost always have a protagonist who grows as they experience adversity. In Eleceed, however, Jiwoo's personality never changes, even after experiencing torture, abduction, fights, and more. What starts as a promisingly formulaic power scaling story really fails to deliver. Repeated lip service about growth and change seldom affects the characters in any real way. Every characters personality becomes flattened to a couple of traits after their initial arc. A power system that promises a nearly MHA range of potential powers often boils down to various colors of energy being flung from one character to another. Ultimately it feels like it imitates a good story without ever being one itself.
