Satsuki, who works at a publishing company, falls in love with Saegusa Jin, a married novelist with children. Believing Saegusa when he says he's going to divorce his wife, Satsuki starts living in his workplace. Tomoko, an illustrator who lives next door to the apartment, has a girlfriend named Keisuke, but Keisuke is also having relationships with other women. Next door to Tomoko live the wife of a politician's secretary, Akiko Fujimura's lover, and Kurusu Mitsugu, a member of a theater company. The story depicts the love conflicts of the three lovers who live in the same apartment building.
