"Yamihunshi'' is one of Baku Yumemakura's masterpieces. The condition for making it into a comic was "if Ken Ishikawa could draw it.'' “I am a fan of Mr. Ishikawa's drawings and stories, and there is something particularly irresistible about the frighteningness when he depicts mechanics that look like living internal organs.” (“About the Dark Hunter”) (From the 19th Ranzo). As those words suggest, Ken Ishikawa's unique writing style skillfully depicts the activities of Kujuku Ranzo, whose business is to banish demons, with a touch of humor at times. Kujuku Ranzo, a "tatarare-ya" who is known as Mr. Sennin and has mastered Chinese martial arts, is visiting a villa to ward off evil spirits at the request of Zennosuke Tamba. Ranzo visits the mansion knowing that Tamba is willing to kill people for money, and there he finds Tamba, whose body is gradually rotting from the lower half of his body, and Baou, a type of mizuchi. He meets his daughter, Ryoko, who is possessed by Sei. Will Ranzo be able to solve the mystery and the evil spirit lurking in the Tamba family?
