Classic manga were the MC gets kicked out of his party with OP animals (a wolf, a slime, two birds one as a fire type and the other a thunder type, and a worm). Its nothing new nor revelatory it doesn't improve the trope but it has good slop potential. Oh yeah and theres Beastkin... mainly beast woman (of course).
