A story about growth.

The MC has quite a tragic background in the new world. His old knowledge doesn't do much, because he has to survive. The worldbuilding is deep and intelligent and has wonderful side characters. And he isn't always liked, also not by the ladies. Though I don't quite get his sense of justice (he could have left the kingdom), it creates a nice and interesting conflict in the story. A story about growth where the MC has to work for it. Very enjoable.
