Malik Galliard, the hero who drove back the Demon King's army, was betrayed by his comrade Linus out of jealousy. A seal was placed on his magic and he was banished to the frontier to rot.

Fifty years have passed since then. Now an old man, Malik is visited by a young girl named Reyes who happens to be Linus' granddaughter. She appears before him to apologize and offers to break the spell binding him.

Moved by Reyes's feelings, Malik accepts the offer. He regains his magic and returns to his youthful form, but the miracle demands a sacrifice as Reyes slowly turns to stone...

Determined to break Reyes's petrification, Malik decides to set out on a journey with his disciple, Alicia. Coincidentally, the Demon King's army has also revived and is plotting a counterattack against humanity.
