The legendary warriors of the Shinsengumi died at different times and in different places, but death wasn't the end for them. One by one, members of the famous samurai police force are reincarnated into the same fantasy world, and for reasons none of them understand, several have returned as women. Among them is Toshi Gata, the reincarnation of Shinsengumi vice-commander Toshizō Hijikata. After volunteering to join the Royal Capital's defense force, Toshi encounters another strangely familiar warrior: Sammy Goto, the reincarnation of her former commander, Isami Kondō. The two soon discover that this world faces threats unlike anything they fought in nineteenth-century Japan. Dragons roam the land, demons threaten the capital, and even powerful attack magic can prove useless against the creatures they encounter. But magic isn't the only way to kill a monster. Toshi and Sammy still possess the swordsmanship, combat instincts and fierce determination they carried in their former lives, and as other reincarnated comrades begin appearing, an audacious idea takes shape. If the warriors of the Shinsengumi have somehow been reunited in another world, then perhaps it's time for the Shinsengumi to ride again.
