Solid 7. Not 8. Not 6. Maybe.

It started off a bit clumsy with the writing and pacing, but it's certainly improving. The usual dopey, unknowingly competent due to jerkwad superiors fantasy style MC, who gets to finally break out and show his stuff. The story keeps moving, progression is going well. Be ready for hand-holding embarrassment awkward couple that can't properly express themselves fluff on the romance side. It's not completely too overdone. Maybe. This is a casual read.
