Farrell, once considered a prime candidate to become the next commander of the Holy Knights, left the order for personal reasons and has since lived as an adventurer. Having never taken the advancement exam, he has remained a mid-rank adventurer for years—earning him a reputation among those around him as a man who is "highly skilled, yet quite eccentric." He avoids flashy jobs, refuses to join any parties, and leads a modest, steady life. However, he has one goal he will never compromise on: bringing back exquisite ingredients found within the labyrinth.

One day, a guild receptionist mentions that members of a high-ranking party may have been left behind in the labyrinth. Deciding to check on the situation—ostensibly while continuing his search for ingredients—Farrell heads into the depths. There, he discovers a slave, brought along solely for the purpose of combat, fighting off monsters all on his own. Farrell rescues the slave, but since he cannot return him to the master who abandoned him, he ends up taking the wounded individual under his care.

Little does Farrell know—about the secret his new charge harbors, nor what might happen when he finally shares the delicious delicacies he has spent so long pursuing with someone else.
