Struggling protagonist, always stands back up

The protagonist in this series starts off weak, but he is very likeable because of his honesty and proactiveness. Knowing that he's weak, he tries to find different ways to get stronger. And especially this: if there is a heroine he likes, he tries his best to impress her. Although he might fail to appear cool and handsome, he strives to impress the heroines around him. I'd say the highlight is reading how the protagonist always try to gather his determination and work hard step by step.
