Description

Koichi Kawato is the new Japanese teacher at the ill-famed Futakotamagawa high school, whose baseball club is composed of thugs and bullies who have been suspended for a year from all school competitions, for causing a brawl during an official match. The newly appointed teacher finds that the club members left are only interested in women, smoking and doing nothing until, under Kawato's guidance, they discover a new dream called the Koshien. However, the road to the Koshien is far from easy as many obstacles await them.

A gem

It always shocks me that this manga is so under the radar, it;s easily one of the best sports manga I’ve ever read, and I’ve come back and read it several times. It really has everything - amazing characters with actual personalities, growth, and individual arcs. Tournament style progressions. Heavy on both the comedy and the emotions. A dash of reality and real world problems. The art style is a bit dated but you will get used to it I promise. It just hits all the spots. 10/10 recommend.

Give it a try!!!

Easily one of my favourite manga's of all time. I come back and periodically reread every few years. Highly recommend. The character development continues the whole series and there is a reason it has spawned an anime and a live action series!
