Thirty-two-year-old Yuta Tsukibayashi has just been laid off from his job when he gets caught up in the summoning of a group of high school students to another world. While the students receive impressive abilities worthy of Heroes, Yuta is stuck with two spectacularly useless skills: “Poor Health” and “Throwing Out His Back.” Deemed worthless by the kingdom, Yuta is given some money and promptly thrown out of the castle. Things only get worse from there: his money is stolen, his dreams of becoming an adventurer go nowhere, and he's eventually mistaken for a suspicious person and expelled from the capital entirely. Just when it seems his new life couldn't possibly get any worse, Yuta encounters a mysterious beautiful girl named Felfetu of the Dark Sea. She offers to provide for him on one condition: he must become her priest and build a village whose people will worship her.

There's just one small problem... Felfetu is an evil god.

With nowhere else to go, Yuta accepts her offer and begins building a settlement from scratch. Thus begins an easygoing otherworldly pioneering life filled with village building, eccentric gods, unexpected companions, and, every now and then, a painfully thrown-out back.
