The Villain Boss Hired Me

"I pawned my life for a single piece of bread — and these villains are way too fond of me!" After three days of starving, a soft, fluffy white loaf of bread appears before her. She devours the fist‑sized roll on the spot — and the villain watching her grins wickedly.

"You ate it. So how about we have a little chat now?"
Just like that, her life is mortgaged to a villain over one piece of bread. The man who gave her the bread turns out to be not just any villain, but the guild master — the big boss himself. Somehow knowing about her special ability of X‑ray vision (clairvoyance), he tracks her down and proposes a suspicious deal: "I give you food, you do the work. Not a bad trade, is it?"
"Can I sleep somewhere warm? I won't go if you hit me."
"Of course. Why would I hit something this tiny? I'll throw in gold coins too."
"Deal! But are you going to eat that bread in your pocket? Give it to me."

He's a bad guy no matter how you look at it — but at least he won't make her beg for scraps and starve her like the orphanage director did. So she takes his hand.

"Newbie. May I touch your cheek just once?"
"One bryn per touch. That's 100 won."
"That's WAY too cheap! I'd hand over my entire paycheck, ma'am!"
"…I was joking."

She thought she just had to do her assigned jobs and that would be that — but the guild members' affection for her is suspiciously, overwhelmingly excessive. Then, on her first failed mission, the boss saves her from serious injury.

"Boss, I still haven't succeeded yet." She said this while dangling from his side. "Does that matter? Are you hurt or not?"
"…I'm not hurt."
"Then that's fine. Let's go eat. I'm hungry."

He was supposed to be ruthless and cold-blooded. Something about the villain boss has changed.
