Kilania, a count’s daughter forced to work as a palace maid to pay off her family's crushing debts, survives her hectic workdays by hiding in a quiet palace garden during her snack breaks. One afternoon, she discovers an attractive "civil servant" collapsed on the ground from severe hypoglycemia and starves him back to life with her homemade cookies. The two form a sweet routine of sharing secret garden tea breaks, unaware that the "starving civil servant" is actually the King himself in disguise! Charmed by her warm, unassuming nature, the King has his royal guards summon her, not for execution, but to offer her a lucrative contract position as his "Contract Queen." Determined to treat her new royal title strictly as a high-paying job, Kilania remains hilariously oblivious to the King's genuine, hopeless affection for her.
