Mu Yunzhao is the “Rakshasa” of a famed military family, and a solitary wolf roaming the capital.

One despises the Rakshasa’s defiance of all norms while the other loathes the Guanyin’s arrogance and rigid propriety. Yet neither knows that, in her dreams, the Guanyin longs only to tear away silken robes, burn down discipline and doctrine, and fall into the abyss with her. Or that deep in her heart, the Rakshasa insists on laying snares, tempting sacred chants, binding her in a passion that ends only in death.
In the end, Will it be the Guanyin who subdues the Rakshasa, or the Rakshasa who ensnares the Guanyin?
The answer was already written in that late spring of their first meeting, when the Rakshasa grasped the reins, and the Guanyin struck a discordant tune.
