In order to obtain or create something, something of equal value must be lost or destroyed. That is the core tenet of alchemy. After the death of their mother, brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric decided to do the impossible: use alchemy to bring her back to life. However, their ritual went horribly wrong: Edward lost his leg, while Alphonse lost his whole body. Wanting nothing but to bring his brother back, Edward sacrificed his arm to bond his soul with a suit of armor. Taking a break from her popular, brilliant, Fullmetal Alchemist; Arakawa-sensei drew up a three-chapters humorous shounen story about a Frankenstein tournament, for magazine GX to commemorate their 5th year anniversary.

This is a limited edition figure and book set. The books are small, containing a short manga and some character analysis. The figures are very detailed, stand 5" tall, and come fully painted.

In Sangokushi Spirits, Hiromu Arakawa and essay manga creator Jun Tokō discussed each of the 120 chapters from the Chinese classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Arakawa drew two four-panel manga strips for each chapter. Each chapter also received one or two character writeups with illustrations by Arakawa.
