Handa Hotori

In the cat-filled town of Miyakecho, there is an urban legend that says cats sometimes put curses on humans. Ichika and Maki were once childhood friends until a certain incident led them to stop talking to each other. When Maki rushes in to save a mysterious white cat from an oncoming truck, however, she somehow finds herself under the cat's curse with Ichika being the only one she can turn to for help.

Tazuru Kazami is a death row inmate who murdered 89 people in just a few years. With her murders gaining a reputation as beautiful "art," the number of copycat crimes has recently skyrocketed and become a social problem. In the midst of this, the imprisoned Kazami offers to hand over information about the copycats on the condition that she speak to a certain someone. The young man she chooses is a run-of-the-mill college student.
