When he discovers he's forgotten his lighter, a fellow patron offers him one at the cost of intruding on his personal space. This is the story of two men and the possible beginnings between them on a lonely, holiday night.

Unexpectedly, he crossed paths with his old high school friend, Yachiyo, during his grandmother's funeral. It had been two long years since they last saw each other, right after Yachiyo's wedding. Their friendship had become distant due to a past incident in high school. "At that moment, I failed to comprehend the significance of it all, and by the time I did, it was already too late—a haunting memory. The emotions that I believed I had let go of resurfaced, engulfing me as we crossed paths once more..."

Machiki eats out nearly every night and uses a dining buddy app so he doesn't have to eat alone. His partner for the evening is Amekawa, someone he vaguely knew in high school, and what was supposed to be a one-time thing turns into an everyday occurrence. Soon Machiki wonders just what these feelings he's starting to have are, but just what will happen when Amekawa reveals something he's been hiding?
