Kanzaki Karuna

A comic anthology with stories drawn by several Japanese artists. Each character has a short comic story; the minor characters get comic strips (4-koma). The stories are self-contained and do not have to be read in order. \*Once, an isolated island continent was plunged into war. The people who wished to end the warring revived a powerful weapon called the "Admonisher" and threatened the participants of the war with it. Thus all of the wars were ended by force. The people behind this called themselves the "Peace Maintenance Brigade." 20 years later the old men of the Brigade are no longer able to maintain the peace. Now war has once again broken out among the inhabitants of the continent. A mysterious famine has appeared, leaving the citizens to fight over what little fertile land is left, while the cities are constantly attacked by fierce amphibious monsters known as "Screapers".\*

A delinquent boy was out at a festival when he finds a discarded goldfish. Recalling his childhood experience of buying a goldfish from a festival stall and bringing it home only to have it die, he tries to make up for it by releasing the goldfish into the river. However, a mysterious girl stops him and tells him that it is not allowed to let out goldfish into the wild, and he learns how to keep goldfish at home and becomes a proper "aquarist."

The Private Aichi Symbiosis Academy was originally a high school for high-class girls. When it became co-ed, the girls, out of fear, asked to be permitted to bring weapons to school. When that was enforced, a five-member vigilante corps-like organization called the "Supreme Five Swords" was also formed. After many generations, the five swords eventually became a group which corrected problematic students, so the academy started proactively accepting such students in order to correct them. Nomura Fudou was sent to that school after being part of a huge brawl. What will he do when the only options he has after enrolling are being expelled from that school as well, or being corrected the way the rest of the male students there were… by being forced to dress and act like girls!

Sakura is an incredible kendo fighter who uses an abnormally short shinai. She regularly trounces boys who underestimate her skills. One day two kendo fighters, even stronger than her sensei, attack her dojo asking questions about someone called Narukami Koharu. Apparently, there is a lot Sakura doesn't know about her family history, and it could very well get her killed. Now, Sakura must try to live up to her father's legacy.
