Kawa Akira

A young boy and dog suddenly appear in the life of a carefree couple. The boy is Kota, taken in by his uncle and aunt after the sudden death of his mother. The dog is a mysterious creature he picked up named Wonder. The four of them grow as they awkwardly overcome various incidents and troubles.

The house with the red kawara roof is a dream of father and son. He is mischievous at school, but in front of Mr. and Mrs. Kobayashi, he is reserved, and is unable to say that he wants to fulfill his late father's dream of building a house with a "red kawara" roof. One day, however, he meets a master carpenter at a construction site on his way to school, and his desire to become a carpenter grows stronger...
