A resigned girl remembers something she'd forgotten after being forced to spend time with a rather odd transfer student.

Yumeko dreams of being a pampered princess, but reality has her living in a shitty old apartment building. With a forest on the roof. And a witch in the forest. Tadaa! Maybe she can get this witch (who is a guy, weird) to magically grant all her wishes, up to and including making her destined prince (high school crush) fall in love with her.

After her normal, happy life shatters, Tokiko and her father move to a small seaside town to live with her grandmother as sixth grade starts. There, the sound of the waves brings back a distant memory from when she visited seven years ago, a memory of almost drowning in the sea and being saved by a merman. Are there really mermaids in that sea? Tokiko adjusts to her new life in the small town as she holds out hope of once more meeting the merman who saved her.

As the end of high school looms near, Mayuko is unhappy with her performance in the last mock exams. Nudged by her friend Megu, she seeks help from Haru, another classmate. They become friends, and maybe, just maybe, something more.
