Koyuki chan is a middle high schooler, kinda coward one. She doesn't like it but she is the chosen one, she has to fight against evil aliens and send them back to their galactical prison. Luckily she's helped by her brother who is a magical girl otaku and by Pirosuke, her guide. This is a funny manga, quite not like other MG ones, adapted from a RPG-like video game.

Our protagonist, Inoue Konoha is still being led around by his senpai, the Literature Club's President, self-acclaimed "Literature Girl" who loves stories so much that she can eat them, Amano Touko. One day, someone put a bunch of paper scraps that have words like "Hate", "Ghost is" and a bunch of puzzling numbers on them in the Literature Club's "Love Consultation Post Box". Calling the act "picking a fight with the Literature Club", Touko once again gets Konoha involved in her investigation; but, when they find the culprit, the girl turned toward them, smiles, and says "I'm already dead." The 2nd arc of the popular bitter & sweet school mystery series.

The "mysterious school comedy" centers on the unusual members of a high school literary club. Tooko Amano, a high school senior who calls herself the "literary girl" as the club president, is actually a supernatural creature (youkai) that devours stories, she tears pages from books to munch on them. Her club subordinate is Konoha Inoue, a second-year high school boy who writes stories every day for Amano to eat. He once wrote an award-winning novel, but he wrote it under the pen name Miu Inoue so readers thought the author was a mysterious 14-year-old bishoujo novelist. Kataribanashi-hen (語咄し編 Storytelling Chapter) is a compilation of winning fan stories for the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series from the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Contest (ひぐらしのなく頃に大賞). Notably, the eight artists involved with the 10 main arcs of the manga all illustrated for at least one of the stories included in the novel volumes, while Karin Suzuragi and Jiro Suzuki even illustrated the cover arts for the manga volumes and Yutori Houjyou and Mimori each did the manga adaptation of a story. Among the other artists, Kei Natsumi, Soichiro, and Akai Higasa would later be involved with other works from 07th Expansion including Umineko no Naku Koro ni and Rose Guns Days. Some stories were adapted into a manga series named Kataribanashi-hen Comic Anthology EX (語咄し編 コミックアンソロジーEX Kataribanashi-hen Komikkuansorojī EX).
