Rebecca has been reincarnated as the villainess of a game she loved in her previous life. That would already be bad enough, but she remembers one particularly unfortunate detail about her new identity: Rebecca dies during the game’s first part. Normally, avoiding a villainess’s destruction flags would be motivation enough to change the story. Rebecca, however, has an even more important reason to survive. Her favorite character doesn’t appear until Part Two. There is absolutely no way she is dying before she gets to meet her beloved Zack. Determined to survive long enough to see her favorite character with her own eyes, Rebecca begins changing the events that originally led to her downfall. Every person she saves and every decision she changes, however, pushes the world further away from the game scenario she remembers. Before long, Rebecca is dealing with enormous monsters, conspiracies surrounding the royal family, foreign spies, and increasingly unpredictable changes to the game's original plot. Then she finally encounters Zack, the man she has been desperately trying to survive long enough to meet. There’s just one problem. Zack isn't merely Rebecca's beloved favorite character. He's the terrifying duke who serves as the game's final boss, and somehow Rebecca's desperate attempts to avoid her destruction are steering her toward an engagement with him.
