Eugene, an American exchange student who had become interested in Japanese culture, mistakenly thought the tea ceremony club was a martial art like kendo or judo , which he had recently seen, and wanted to observe. Torii Itsuki , who happened to be nearby in the staff room, was asked by the tea ceremony club advisor to show Eugene to the tea room .
