Ooishi Naho

Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock is a three chapter manga created by Ooishi Naho and based on the video game Dragon Ball Heroes. It features a spin-off scenario taking place after the events of the TV special Dragon Ball Z: Bardock - The Father of Goku, in which Bardock survives after his confrontation against Frieza and turns into a Super Saiyan.

Two strange aliens are terrorizing the home planet of Tarble, Vegeta's younger brother, they have followed him to earth. Read as Goku and his friends try to defeat these aliens at the request of Tarble.

"Oh!! New Gadget Super Lovers" features a group that parodies the Ginyu Force. Each issue, they review a gadget or a toy in a way that makes it a parody of Dragon Ball. Several techniques and characters from the original Dragon Ball manga make cameo appearances.

This compilation volume parodies the typical Dragon Ball Daizenshuu encyclopedias, specifically the official Dragon Ball Landmark encyclopedia. However, its contents are simply a collection of the best pages from the Dragon Ball Fan Book, selected by the author, along with some concept art.

These two volumes are perhaps the most controversial work Ooishi Naho has done in her entire career. The plot presents a parallel story in which Goku and Vegeta end up being a homosexual couple. While the premise is intriguing, the scenes are forced into yaoi as quickly as possible. It's worth noting that the yaoi scenes are extremely explicit and barely censored, so this manga can be classified as an 18+ doujinshi.

A gag doujin series done by Naho Ooishi years ago under the alias Gichi (POWER LEVEL 69). Back in her early days as a manga artist, she focused a lot on reworking Akira Toriyama’s original manga, but with a comedic twist. Instead of the serious dialogue, she replaced it with jokes, references, and funny gags, turning the story into a much more lighthearted and condensed version of what we all know. Think of it as a kind of early version of Dragon Ball SD, but with even more respect for Toriyama’s art style. The manga comes in four volumes plus a special chapter, each volume covering one of the big Dragon Ball Z arcs: Saiyans, Frieza, Androids, and Buu. It’s packed with humor and great artwork, and that’s probably why Shueisha brought Naho Ooishi on board as their official manga artist.
