Duchess Salleria marries Harris, the “cold and calculating duke” of the enemy kingdom, as a hostage to bring an end to a long and brutal war. For three years, she lives beside him as his wife, yet he never whispers words of love, gives her a gift, or even spends peaceful time alone with her.
Despite his complete lack of emotion, Salleria never complains. She faithfully plays the role of the perfect wife, enduring everything in silence. But after three exhausting years, she finally reaches her limit.
As peace between the two kingdoms draws near, Salleria makes one simple request to her husband:
“My lord, once peace is established… will you divorce me?”
