A hot-blooded young architect named Kensaku Miyako declares himself to be a master at carpentry, but is challenged by the older, more experienced rival craftsman Seigen Ogasawara. Kensaku must put his skills to the test in seeing if he can successfully build a house that'll outmatch Seigen's plan, and one that'd truly be a dream home.

The series revolves around a madman of a detective known as Kogoro and his sidekick son Kobayashi, as they go solving strange mysteries and other affairs. Once informed of an incident, Kogoro will pursue who he believes responsible and engages in a struggle to arrest, but his own stupidity and delusions will complicate that procedure and destruction and violence may result in his wake. However, sometimes Kogoro and Kobayashi will find themselves taking part in adventures that have little to do with any detective work at all.

His real name is Leon Trotsky. He is 1 year and 3 months old. He was born as the 18th son of a stray dog, and immediately abandoned him and was about to starve to death, but he was picked up by philosophy professor Goru Kake, and became his pet dog, where he continues to live today.
