Japan enacts a polygamous marriage system in order to revitalize its sagging economy as well as the birth rate. But to qualify, you must earn income substantially greater than the average, have completed some notable achievements in sports, arts, or the sciences, or have done some great deed that earned you the recognition of the nation. Our hero Asao Shouhei isn't rich, or remarkable in sports, arts, or the sciences, but on one fateful day, he rose to become a hero of the nation. And this is his story… and the story of the three women who love him and become his wives.

As a child, Kawagoe Haruma eagerly awaited the birth of his little sister. However, his mother had a miscarriage, followed by an operation that left her barren. That Christmas, Haruma made his Christmas wish. It was a wish so innocent and heartfelt that it was accepted instantly, unbeknownst to him. Many years later, on Christmas morning, college student Haruma is awoken by a woman riding a hovering motorcycle and claiming to be Santa Claus. She throws him a bag, and he opens it to find his new little sister! Complaining to Santa Claus that he made this wish a long time ago, she tells him that it takes much longer for a sister than it does a toy car. After naming her Choko because of the Anchoko (mini-guidebook) she carries around, they begin their new life as brother and sister in a crazy apartment building filled with interesting neighbors.

Karigari Hiroshi is a total robotics geek/genius who really likes this one girl, Marie. He's too shy to ask her out, so he becomes obsessed with creating a perfect android copy of Marie. He succeeds perfectly in creating Marie, an android with the intelligence and heart/emotions of a human and who looks just like Marie (though with different colored hair).
