Once upon a time in China... Huang Chengyan, a powerful local lord of Jingzhou, takes a liking to the eccentric scholar Zhuge Liang and decides to make him the husband of his daughter, Yueying. However, Yueying has no interest in him whatsoever, and all the other suitors have failed so far... So what will happen now?!

In Sangokushi Spirits, Hiromu Arakawa and essay manga creator Jun Tokō discussed each of the 120 chapters from the Chinese classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Arakawa drew two four-panel manga strips for each chapter. Each chapter also received one or two character writeups with illustrations by Arakawa.
