Interesting concept, poor execution

The concept itself is very interesting but i feel like there was so much missed potential from this story. it kinda starts, lets say, good enough but then by the end of the story nothing makes sense anymore, they are suddenly in love and now HE is a criminal, it was just too confusing and things did not fit with how the story started.
