Convoluted mess due to storytelling decisions

I really wanted to love this series, and I think this series had some moments that weren’t bad. However, overall I think the execution had so many bumps and hurdles that ultimately became too much. This series tries hard to explore political themes, but the delivery of it wasn’t up to par. There’s a mix of issues between the story telling, rigid dialogues, and writing which makes MC’s choices and negotiations confusing, sometimes even borderline nonsensical. A missed opportunity

This one stands out in a crowded genre by focusing on strategy, personality, and long term storytelling rather than just raw power fantasy. If you like smart protagonists and layered conflicts, it’s definitely worth your time. But that being said after the second arc from ch126 author sometimes focuses on annoying side characters that slow and brings down the flow from 2nd arc

Could be better, but still worth a read

I’m not sure why this is marked as completed, since there are already more than 191 chapters and there will probably be at least another dozen or so. I believe the manhwa and the novel divide the seasons differently, but for me the story can roughly be split into four parts. Part 1 covers the first 90 or so chapters. It’s decent fun overall, although some things feel underdeveloped, and there’s a heavy emphasis on scheming that can be hit or miss depending on the reader.
