1900, China. The Qing dynasty is corrupt and on the verge of collapse, and Western powers interfere in Chinese politics.

Sanjo, a poor farmer's daughter, killed a tax collector, and is on the run. She runs into the Giwadan, a group of dissatisfied men who wish to restore the dynasty and do away with the Western powers. However, the Giwadan have extreme means of force, which shock Sanjo. She ends up falling in love with Li Rai Chu, the leader of the Giwadan revolt...
