This is just peak, took 2 days to read and was just absolutely peak, the random bits of info given during these climbs, are just so good, the random insect lady, the friend from arc one turning into a "not good person" his rival he used to climb with, the friends he saw in the mountains, now left there to rot. I genuenly think The Climber is one of the greatest manga I have ever read. I remember seeing random panels online and thinking it was just a story about mountain climbing. When I finally got around to reading it what I found was one of the most philosophical and profound stories I have ever read. The main character Mori Buntarou feels very real, and seeing him evolve throught the manga and shaped by the people around him in different stages of his life was impactful and beautiful to read. This is more psychology rather than climbing. The author changed about 3 times, I think. The first author wrote volume 1-2, the 2nd, 3-4 and, the third wrote the rest (You can just tell by the tone of the story). The art is absolutely goated, a lot of symbolism in the art too. It has good representation of how passion can become obsession, being an outcast (not by your choice) and, most importantly, loneliness.
