It give more depth to a classic trope
It follows the classic trope of: kicked out of the hero’s party, the MC is secretly overpowered and suffers from low self-esteem. All the usual clichés are there, but the story ends up being much deeper than its initial premise suggests — even the MC’s lack of confidence is explored in a more meaningful way than you’d expect.
