1964 Tokyo Olympics. The father of the main character, Naoya Ichijo, loses a judo match and loses his life. After that, under the strict guidance of Shusaku Kuruma, Naoya uses special techniques such as "Hell Kuruma" and "Ebi Kuruma" to fight against foreign judoka and Japanese rivals in the original hot-blooded sports manga! In 1968, a TV drama version starring Keiichi Sakuragi was aired (produced by TBS and Toei) and was a huge hit. The scene in which Masaomi Kondo, who plays his rival Shingo Yuuki, jumps up onto the piano keys and plays with his feet is so famous that it became the basis for the later special effects drama ``Kamen Rider.''
